| Kettlebell Buying Guide I am a full time kettlebell instructor and train dozens of people of all shapes, sizes and fitness abilities every day. As a general rule when deciding what size bell to start with, women would start with an 8kg and then move onto a 10kg or 12kg as their technique and fitness improves. A man would start with a 12kg or if he has experience of resistance or weight training, a 16kg. If a women is looking to start training with kettlebells and has absolutely no experience of any kind of fitness training, I may occassionally suggest that they start with a 6kg.
